TakeBack Day

DEA National TakeBackDay is quickly approaching.

It's time to clean out your medicine cabinets and prepare to properly dispose of any unused or expired medications. There are several options for disposal this year.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office is holding Operation Medicine Cabinet at Walmart in The Villages (4085 Wedgewood Lane).

The Wildwood Police Department, at 3939 County Road 462 East, will host a TakeBack Day Event, accepting discarded medications. Neither location will be able to accept liquids or needles at this time.

You can also visit deatakeback.com to find the location nearest you!

Members of our community who cannot attend these TakeBack Day events can contact SumterCAP@gmail.com to request a medication disposal kit so they may also properly dispose of any unused or expired medications.
